The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking applications for a post-doctoral research fellow (2-3 year appointment) to work on a multi-disciplinary study led by Dr. Ashley Acheson investigating roles of stress reactivity, immune dysregulation, and white matter microstructure on behavioral phenotypes associated with having family histories of alcohol and other substance use disorders and exposure to early life adversity. Applicants will have the opportunity to learn in-depth behavioral and clinical assessments, advanced immunological assays, and multimodal neuroimaging techniques. The fellow will also receive training in manuscript and grant preparation and mentorship in general academic development. Qualifications include a doctoral degree (PhD, ScD, MD, DO, etc) in the behavioral sciences, neuroscience, psychology, or other relevant area.
