We are seeking a postdoctoral associate who will join a consortium of leading addiction researchers to work on an exceptionally large neuroimaging-genetics project. ENIGMA- Addiction (http://www.enigmaaddiction.com) performs secondary analyses on datasets contributed by labs from over the world. The uniquely large sample sizes with multi- modal neuroimaging data enable numerous in-depth investigations of the neurobiology of drug dependence. The successful applicant will join a vibrant lab with considerable experience working with large datasets. We host a T32 trainee grant that focuses on applying machine learning analytic techniques to large neuroimaging-genetic datasets, and we are a member of the ABCD and IMAGEN consortia. The successful applicant will be able to conduct novel and robust analyses encompassing genetics, neuroimaging and behavioral measures focused on understanding the neurobiology of drug use and dependence. Candidates must have completed doctoral training in psychology, neuroscience, bioinformatics, or a related discipline. Experience with neuroimaging genetics research desired. Programming experience (MATLAB, Python, R, etc.) will be highly valuable but is not a prerequisite. As a Post-Doctoral researcher, the candidate will be responsible for neuroimaging and/or genetic data analyses on projects designed by the candidate themselves. Duration of appointment is 1 year. Stipends will be approx. $53,760, depending on previous post-doctoral experience. The University of Vermont is a premier small research university and is based in Burlington Vermont, a town that is perennially ranked as one of the USA’s most livable small cities known for its healthy lifestyle, music and food scenes. Interested applicants should contact Hugh.Garavan@uvm.edu and msmackey@uvm.edu for informal inquiries.

The UCLA Neuroimaging of Addiction and Treatment Laboratory has a postdoctoral position available for a highly motivated person who would like to join our lab, which conducts multimodality brain imaging (structural MRI, fMRI, MRS and PET). Our research focuses on several important drug use disorders (Tobacco, Stimulant and Opioid Use Disorders) and large datasets to evaluate neural bases of behavioral deficits and effects of interventions. This work is performed in the context of UCLA’s state-of-the-art neuroimaging centers with exciting opportunities for bidirectional research translation with basic science laboratories and clinical research programs across the university. Candidates must have an PhD or MD in a relevant research field and experience in brain imaging data acquisition and analysis of neuroimaging data. Experience in both univariate and multivariate statistical approaches is preferred and in diverse neuroimaging software environments (e.g., FSL, SPM, Freesurfer, nilearn, NiPype). Proficiency in programming (i.e., Matlab, Python, R, Unix/Linux shell, and/or other languages) is desired. Salary will be commensurate with training level. UCLA is an equal-opportunity employer. Women and minorities are strongly encouraged to apply. Applications are currently being accepted for employment to start as soon as possible. Interested applicants should email Dr. Edythe London (elondon@mednet.ucla.edu), with the following items: · Curriculum vitae · Letter of intent · Names and contact info for two references
